Jesse R. Taylor, 29, of Olean Trail, Summerville, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, in an automobile accident on Route 66, Clarion Township. Born September 20, 1980, in Clarion, he was the son of Jeffrey L. Taylor and Jody L. Mendenhall Taylor. Jesse was a 1999 graduate of C-L High School where he played football.  He attended Carnegie Mellon University for one year and was involved with the ROTC.  He graduated from Penn State Dubois with a degree in mechanical engineering. Jesse served in the U.S. Navy. He was a drafter and designer for Charles Machine. Jesse was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Plumville Hunting Club.  He enjoyed hunting, racing, and his dog, Oscar.  He had a passion for football. Jesse is survived by his mother, Jody L. Taylor of Limestone; father, Jeff Taylor and his wife, Sherry, of Fairmount City; maternal grandmother, Patricia Mendenhall of Brookville; paternal grandparents, Max and Donna Taylor of Clarion; sister, Jeanne Taylor of Ocean City, MD; and brother, Ian Taylor of Fairmount City. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Jean Caldwell and husband, Rich, of Summerville; Jerry Mendenhall of Brookville; Joyce Mendenhall of Pittsburgh; Jane Wines and husband, Jim, of Oakdale, CA; Tracy Taylor and wife, Jodi, of Chillicothe, OH; Vera Philson and husband, David, of Greenville; Patty Childers and husband, Eddie, of SD; and numerous cousins. Jesse was preceded in death by grandfather, Gerald Mendenhall. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, in the funeral home with Rev. Deryl Larsen, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion, officiating. Interment will be held in the New Bethlehem Cemetery.
